Some More S'Mores Please

Has it been too hot to sit around a campfire lately? Or have you been too tired to make a bonfire? Well, there shouldn’t be any excuses not to as Saturday marked (no, not National Campfire Day) National S’Mores Day.

Saturday, August 10 recognized the most loved summer treat which includes the gooey, messy stuff kids love. Otherwise known as “Some More,” Girl Scout Loretta Scott Crew invented the sandwich with her recipe being recorded in the 1927 version of Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts.

Other, more creative versions of the recipe include ingredients one wouldn’t think of using, like banana slices (Phenomenal Fudge doesn’t normally have this topping or flavor but perhaps, with a simple request, we could make it for you). Other versions of the desert include spreading peanut butter on the graham crackers before adding the marshmallow and chocolate, using peanut butter cups instead of a chocolate bar, using fudge-dipped cookies instead of graham crackers and/or lastly, adding banana slices.

Speaking of S’Mores, Phenomenal Fudge has a recipe for the gooey treat. While it’s not listed as a regular flavor, we do have the ability to make it. Who knows...it just might become a regular flavor! As summer winds down to an end this month, and the kids go back to school, did you do all the family activities you wanted to this summer? Did you spend those summer nights by a campfire, telling stories, roasting marshmallows and making S’More’s? It’s not too late.

You can order a Phenomenal Fudge S’More at half-price ($5) by calling us at 802-897-7300 by September 1, 2019.
